Training on Gender Responsive Program, Policy and Budget Analysis

Women’s Empowerment & Political Participation project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (WEPP-KP) with the financial support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) organized a two days training workshop from 13-14 October 2020. The participants included staff of the Social Welfare Department (SWD), KP Commission on Status of Women (KPCSW), and the Planning and Development (P&D) department.  There was a total of 19 participants for the training. Out of these, there were 14 female and 5 male participants in the training.

The main objectives of the training were:

  1. To enhance understanding of gender and gender mainstreaming with reference to the political participation of women.
  2. To provide knowledge and skills of gender analysis and mainstreaming in policy, planning, budgeting, and project management.
  3. To identify the root causes of women’s absence in the development process and to enhance women’s presence and participation in political processes and structures.
  4. To orient Master Trainers on Women’s constitutional rights and the progress and international commitments made by the Government of Pakistan.

Internal Staff Orientation on Gender Mainstreaming

With the motive of “Change from Home”, the Women’s Empowerment & Political Participation project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (WEPP-KP) conducted the one-day orientation session for all internal staff regarding sensitization on gender mainstreaming on 18th September 2020. Gender Equality Advisor, Ms. Zuhra Luqman conducted the session. The WEPP-KP staff was orientated regarding women’s harassment issues at the workplace and how to maintain coordination and working relationships with women colleagues. The staff was also briefed about the rules and regulations of Cowater International, Pakistani, and Canadian Government regarding women at the workplace.
