Distribution of Orange Masks as Part of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence

Noor Education Trust (NET), a local Civil Society Organization (CSO) is running women shelters for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Peshawar, Pakistan. Apart from other support to survivors, NET is working on the economic empowerment of these survivors by imparting different skills training to women. Women’s Empowerment & Political Participation project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (WEPP-KP) team visited NET women shelter on 1st December 2020 and distributed 200 orange color masks which will be used in different events under 16 days of Activism Against GBV and awareness regarding wearing of masks for protection against COVID-19. The main purpose behind this intervention was to encourage the GBV survivors in utilizing their skills for their economic empowerment and join hands with them on this important campaign.

GBV survivors were thankful to WEPP-KP for encouragement and appreciation of their efforts. They commented that  “This gives us a ray of hope in our life.”
